Africaspoint welcomes submissions from journalists, researchers, analysts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and experts who have original insights, stories, or analyses about Africa’s business, technology, innovation, culture, infrastructure, or development landscape.

We are an opportunity-driven platform. We prioritize stories that highlight progress, innovation, and transformation content that gives our global audience of investors, diaspora professionals, founders, and policy experts the intelligence they need to act.


What we’re looking for

We accept two types of submissions:

1. Original articles & analysis

In-depth reporting, expert commentary, or data-driven analysis on topics including:

  • Business developments and market opportunities across Africa
  • Technology, fintech, and digital innovation
  • Infrastructure projects and economic development
  • Entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem stories
  • African diaspora achievements and connections
  • Culture, education, and social innovation
  • Investment landscape and regulatory developments

Length: 400–1,200 words
Format: Clear, factual, well-structured prose with sources cited

2. Story tips & news leads

If you’ve spotted a significant story that you think deserves wider coverage a startup raising funds, a policy change, a major infrastructure project, a community achievement share it with our editorial team.

We’ll review it and, if suitable, produce an executive summary for the platform.


Editorial standards

All submissions must meet the following criteria:

Factual & verifiable Claims must be supported by credible sources. We verify facts before publication.

Neutral tone We do not publish opinion pieces, advocacy content, or politically partisan material. Analysis is welcome; polemic is not.

Original We do not publish content that has been previously published elsewhere without prior discussion.

Africa-relevant Content must be directly related to African countries, African communities, or the African diaspora.

No self-promotion without disclosure: If you have a commercial interest in the subject matter, you must disclose it. Undisclosed promotional content will be rejected.


Sponsored Content

Organizations, companies, and institutions can reach our audience through clearly labeled sponsored articles. Sponsored content must still meet our editorial standards for accuracy and relevance we do not publish misleading or promotional material that doesn’t serve our readers.

How to submit

Step 1: Email your submission or story tip to: editorial@africaspoint.com

Step 2: Include the following in your email:

  • Article title or story summary (2–3 sentences)
  • Full article text or detailed story tip (attach as .docx or paste in email)
  • Your name, brief bio, and any relevant credentials
  • Sources and links for any facts or quotes cited
  • Whether this is a sponsored submission (if applicable)

Step 3: Our editorial team will review your submission and respond within 5 business days.


What happens after you submit?

  • If accepted: We’ll let you know, may make light editorial edits for clarity and tone, and will publish with your byline and bio.
  • If not accepted: We’ll let you know, though we may not be able to provide detailed feedback on all submissions.
  • If it’s a story tip: We’ll review and may contact you for more information before publishing a summary.

Contributor guidelines

  • Write clearly and concisely. Cut jargon. Our readers are busy professionals.
  • Lead with the most important information.
  • Provide hyperlinks to all cited sources.
  • If quoting individuals, ensure you have permission or the quotes are from public statements.
  • Avoid adjective-heavy, hyperbolic language. Let the facts make the case.
