The University of Glasgow has opened applications for its African Excellence Award, offering up to 16 full tuition scholarships to outstanding African students for postgraduate taught master’s programmes beginning in September 2026. The application deadline is March 31, 2026, at 23:59 UK time.
- The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year. Recipients will be required to meet the UK Visas and Immigration living costs requirement independently, as the award covers fees only.
- Eligibility requires academic performance equivalent to a UK First-Class Honours degree, international fee status, domicile in Africa, and a passport from an eligible African country. Eligible countries include Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and others across the continent.
- Applicants must have applied for a postgraduate taught master’s programme at Glasgow. They may apply for the scholarship before receiving an admissions offer, but must hold an offer to be considered for interview. Postgraduate diplomas and certificates are not eligible.
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by May 8, 2026. Applications are submitted through the University of Glasgow’s scholarship portal.
